Film Midterm Submission

I wanted to create a suspense film with lots of twists. I realized that there was no better twist than finding out the dead character had sanctioned her girlfriend’s kidnapping.

Film production - Schedule Filming

I filmed my movie on November 24th. I spoke with my actors and that was the day I could get all of them together for the shoot. I filmed the entirety of the movie on this shooting day. I filmed the date portion of the opening at the celery fields.

Then I filmed the kidnapping portion of the opening at my house.

I managed to get all of the shots I wanted and I didn’t need to schedule another filming day.

Film Production - Scout Locations

I will be using the celery fields hill and my house as filming locations for my movie.

The celery fields hill rises above the surrounding area, allowing for a less cluttered background and a nice view of the surrounding area.

My house provides a nice open area without many neighbors and a nice view of the sunset, allowing us to stage a kidnapping on the picturesque background without getting into any trouble with authorities

Film Production - Casting

My movie has three characters: Lucie, Avery, and the Killer. Lucie and Avery are a gay couple celebrating their one year anniversary. The killer is a shady man determined to kidnap his target.

The character of the killer will be played by Danny Brown. Danny is perfect for this role due to his previous acting experience and his determination.

Lucie will be played by Lucie Bussiere. She is perfect for this character because she has acted before and she is gay.

Avery will be played by Avery Miller. This is because her and Lucie are very close friends and can act well together, passing of as a gay couple.

Film Production - Script

This film is about a teen couple that goes missing. It follows the police as they uncover numerous unexpected twists in the process of finding the girls.

Project Selection - My Decision

I have decided to make a film. I am more interested in producing something entertaining instead of something informational. I would most likely lose interest in the magazine and therefore not make a quality product. I have some previous filming experience and I believe this will help me make my film. I want to make a suspense film. It will have many unexpected plot twists to keep the audience guessing. My biggest challenge will be editing. I have never edited footage before.

Project Selection - Film

I really like the idea of the film project. I really enjoy films and I have always wanted to make one. I would like to try writing and directing my own scenes, just like John Hughes did with Ferris Bueller. I would do this project well because I like to practice cinematography. I can make good shots with drones. I would struggle, however, with finding people to fill my cast. I would also need free time to film the shots.

Project Selection - Magazine

The magazine would be an interesting project to attempt. I like how magazines can spread important information to many people around the country. This project would work well for me because I have a lot of information that I could spread through a magazine. I also enjoy the design process for print media. However, I would have many challenges with this project. The biggest problem is that I hate writing. I am not very creative when it comes to stories. I most likely would not be able to come up with ideas for fifty pages of articles. I also would not be able to provide enough information for a two page article. Although the magazine may be fun to try, I would struggle a lot throughout the process.
